For a fee, patented (U.S. 9,286,942) Codentity Transition Technology (CTT) can be licensed and adapted to improve the music-flow experience across a diverse set of digital presentation platforms—smartphone, Web streams, tablets, and more.

(Burr Ridge, IL – April 17, 2017)  Chicago area based Codentity® LLC has announced that it will immediately begin offering licensing and service integration agreements for its patented digital music sequencing methods.  Codentity Transition Technology (CTT) is a system and method of automatically refining sequential song-to-song transitions on digital playback devices.

Unlike typical automatic mixing solutions from other vendors on various platforms ─ where premature fade-outs, unwanted fade-ins, extended silence periods (“gaps”), or arbitrary content portion deletions are commonplace ─ Codentity’s patented designs instead present digital audio (such as music, promotional spots, dialog tracks, etc.) at normal audio levels, and with completely natural, automatically-synchronized transitions.  With CTT, for example, song sets are heard as either overlapped or suitably adjoined—as if a live DJ were mixing the tracks.  And this is accomplished WITHOUT the need for user or administrative actions!

Potential applications include creating natural music transitions on smartphones, tablets, and other mobile devices; streaming Web-music presentations; in-car audio systems, music servers, desktop PCs, and on-demand voice-command services.

License agreements are offered at three levels:

• Platform License  (Articulated as single platform or multi-platform)
• Developer Assets Package (Sample source code, programming object maps, step-by-step process execution templates, etc.)
• Developer Consultation Services  (Process assistance adapting technology to proprietary music-flow networks)

Automatic calculation of digital media content durations optimized for overlapping or adjoined transitions

The invention (United States Patent 9,286,942) is a software implemented solution that improves the user experience when listening to digital audio files.    Potential applications include creating natural music transitions on smartphones, streaming Web presentations, music player devices, in-car audio, tablets, and desktop computers.

Unlike typical automatic mixing solutions from other vendors on various platforms ─ where premature fade outs, unwanted fade ins, extended silence periods (“gaps”), or arbitrary content portion deletions are commonplace ─ Codentity’s patented designs instead present digital audio (such as music, promotional spots, dialog tracks, etc.) at normal audio levels, and with completely natural, automatically-synchronized transitions.

Based, in part, on a song’s production end style (such as abrupt or faded), Codentity’s True Blend® transition technology automatically determines whether the transformation from Song A to Song B should be executed as either an overlapped or an adjoined event.

(Burr Ridge, IL – March 31, 2014)  A suburban Chicago company, Codentity® LLC, has designed and developed a software solution that automatically improves the listening experience for music fans.  It works by eliminating the annoying silence gaps, and audio transition level disparities, heard in the automix mode of almost every other digital audio tool.  The result is a music flow presentation that sounds like expensive broadcast automation sequencing—for a small fraction of the cost.

According to Codentity Managing Partner, Tom Hayes, “Our True Blend™ retail software is perfect for delivering digital audio on demand at mobile DJ parties, sporting events, trade shows,  political rallies, and even live podcasts.  True Blend™ is the only consumer-grade solution that executes completely natural overlapped audio transitions—WITHOUT a ‘dip and clip’ (fade-out, then fade-in) effect.  True Blend™ requires no file preparation, and it works its magic for both automatic and manually-activated transitions”.

Codentity’s patent-pending technology is now being provisioned for licensing by the streaming Internet radio community.  The “streamers”, as a group, are largely plagued by extended silence gaps of up to 7 seconds between audio events.  This is disruptive, and could cause listeners to tune-out.

On the streamer platform, Codentity transition technology would also serve to protect the digital assets of the record companies that license their libraries.  “Currently, streaming presentations provide music selections without mixed (i.e., concurrently overlapped) implementations”, explains Hayes.  “This situation permits users to record hours of music streams, and then quickly edit and export the ‘clean’ songs to MP3 files on their computer—without payment.”

The adaptation of Codentity software designs would immediately improve the listener’s experience, and also help the streamers prevent collateral damage to legacy catalogs by discouraging unobstructed piracy.   “Streamers that implement this technology might be able to negotiate reduced licensing fees”, said Hayes.
